One of the first academic deliverables of the Nature Smart Cities project was the evaluation of different green infrastructure valuation tools. After thoroughly researching the state-of-the-art on this topic, a journal article was composed by the University of Antwerp, incorporating and utilising knowledge that emerged during Nature Smart Cities partner meetings. In this article, we review existing tools on their current applicability in the urban decision-making processes. Moreover, we advice on when these toolkits might provide added value and how future tools should be developed to improve their use in evidence-based decision-making.
After a process of peer-review, the article was published in the Journal of Environmental Management (JEMA). The article can be accessed here.
