New Publication: The Benefits Of Urban Greening

In this publication, the Nature Smart Cities project provides an overview of the many benefits that urban greening can bring to European cities.

More and more people are choosing to live in cities and towns. Almost three quarters of Europe’s population live in urban areas, whilst in the UK that figure is expected to reach 92% as early as 2030. As urban populations grow, greater pressure is placed on green space to accommodate new housing and infrastructure that is essential to urban life.

In its first publication produced for a local authority audience, the Nature Smart Cities project provides an overview of the many benefits that urban greening can bring to Europe’s cities and towns. You can access the publication in the library
